Alice in Our Garden

Strange things happen when me and my sister get bored. After recently seeing Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland, for the first time, it sparked my latest obsession and got my imagination working overtime! So on a lazy day with nothing else to do we set up are very own Alice inspired photoshoot, much to the amusement of our family! We used our own clothes and things to liven up our Mad Hatter Tea Party.

Mad Hatter.

The Queen of Hearts-My D.I.Y heart shoe clips perfectly complimented by playing cards.

Late for an important date.

Watch out for the rabbit hole.....and the Chesire cat!

Portobello Road Market

Just back from a great trip to London with my best friend, this post is dedicated to our trip to Portobello Road Market. The sun was shining, brightening my mood even more. when surrounded by beautiful collections of vintage pieces how could you not be smiling? Even though I was mostly just window shopping, I did make a couple of purchases, gemstone earring for my mother and a beautiful vintage bracelet for myself. the atmosphere of Portobello Road is wonderful, the charming stall, beautiful antiques and delicious crepes- which were definitely substaintial for lunch!

We wandered on for hours enjoying the sights and people watching and just soaked up the prettiness! Sigh!

Hirst antiques- Everything is just exquisite. The pieces in there are so amazing you don't feel like you should be allowed inside!

I love being such a tourist!

V&A Museum Fashion

I really enjoyed this fashion exhibition in the Victoria & Albert Museum. Originally, we had planned to go to the Grace Kelly Exhibition but we were dismayed to find that all the tickets for that day had already been sold out. But our disappointment was soon forgotten as we stumbled across the permanent V&A fashion collection.

I took this photo of my friend in awe of a Catherine Walker dress which Princess Di commissioned in 1989 for an official visit to Hong Kong.

Chanel-1932 Lanvin-1935

I was literally breathless at this Chanel dress, its so beautiful. Being from the 1930's makes it even more incredible. I have so much admiration for all the designers featured in this post. Every dress/outfit is creative, innovative and of course, inspiring. I felt like I was in heaven.

Yves Saint Laurent-1960 Madeleine Vionnet-1933

Alexander McQueen-2010

Me and an Ossie Clark Dress form the 1960's. I had to get a photo with this dress- I love Ossie Clark! The essential designer from the Swinging Sixties in London, what's not it love!

Chinatown

With walls of lucky cats and herbal tea we definitely felt the Chinatown vibe. Being a big herbal tea fan I was delighted to purchase an authentic box of Chinese jasmine tea, unfortunately the box is almost empty now, it was really good!

Being in Chinatown was great, we came across a shop that seemed to the basic touristy things stocked there to find that this shop was merged with many others inside. It went from tourist basics to a bridal shop to Hello Kitty heaven. We spent alot of time in the clothes section of course, the prices was great! So I bought a grey jersey dress with the band Queen logo on it- only £14!

Not to mention we couldn't get enough of the Chinese food!

Graduation

The team effort started very early in the morning to get me looking like this! I got my Mam and sister on board to help with the transformation. I don't think I'm cut out for all that fuss at once, don't get me wrong I love to get my hair and nails done every once and a while but I was fairly sick of it by the time we were finished. I the kinda girl who gets ready 15 minutes before leaving for somewhere, and takes pride in it! In Saying that I was amazed at what a great job Mam and Jill did, is it just me or does it look really professional?

My friend Roisin (middle) had the idea of champagne and strawberries, it adds that touch of class I think.

I got all excited when we all met up together and really got in a happy mood. Everthing went really smoothly, great food, great music and great friends! I'm gonna miss all my friends who are leaving though so I was delighted to share a this brilliant night with them.

Thanks to my Mam also for taking these great shots.

Military Headgear

I plaited a vintage headscarf and added military style buttons, and now I have a brand new hairband.

Probably my most adventurous project so far. This sunglasses case/clutch bag was made from stiff curtain tape and then lined and covered. I'm quite proud of it and didn't think it would turn out this good, if I say so myself. The doily actually originated from Portugal where years ago my Mother stole it from a posh hotel..... :)

Grey & Black

A mixture of my favourite t shirt, jacket, and sunglasses. I would live in that t shirt if I couls I wear it with everything and anything.

My bag is all the way from South Africa and is the perfect size to hold my purse and phone. I added the little embellishment myself, like I usually do.

Don't know why I haven't worn these oxfords more, they're great with everything.
